I started this blog as a rambling space, I wanted to bang on about all the things that I love in the hope that one day I would have some readers that weren’t just my family and close friends. Committing to something, for me, is very challenging, yet I have found that this blog has been something I continually come back too and have always loved doing. In the beginning, I had no idea how supportive and wonderful the blogging community would be, and how awesome it would feel to be a member of it. When I saw the other day that I had been nominated by Scribble in the City for the Liebster Award I was so happy, even though there is no trophy or medal it was so comforting to know that somebody would nominate my blog for the award. The Liebster Award provides the opportunity for bloggers like myself to discover new blogs or simply share love and support to some older ones.
Enough rambling, lets dive right in. Here are the rules:
- Post 11 facts about yourself
- Answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you
- Nominate 11 other bloggers
- Ask the bloggers 11 questions
- Let the bloggers know that you have nominated them
This might be a long one… Here are 11 of the most interesting (or maybe not…) facts about me. Yay!
Fact 1: I have bleached my hair so many times it is now beyond repair, sometimes I just want to chop it all off and start over… but I won’t because I am not that brave.
Fact 2: I am always really late, I have no idea why but even when I have loades of time, I am still late. I know its an awful quality, i’m working on it (maybe).
Fact 3: I have an unhealthy obsession with Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations, my friends are worried for me.
Fact 4: I am watching Gossip Girl for the third time in a row and it is still the best show evereverever EVER. I need a Dorota in my life!
Fact 5: My mum and dad took me and my brother travelling across south east Asia throughout our younger years and I am so grateful to have had that experience (even though I can barely remember it).
Fact 6: I broke both of my arms, trying to impress a boy, on the monkey bars when I was a little girl. I know, I’m embarrassing.
Fact 7: I am half Italian-Irish and half New Zealander.
Fact 8: I have a huge crush on Eddie Redmayne. Period.
Fact 9: I adore all things sparkly and glittery, necklaces, badge pins, jumpers – the lot!
Fact 10: My music taste is ridiculously eclectic, so listening on shuffle is a no go.
Fact 11: I have a tiny pinkie finger, its literally 3cm.
Now for the questions Scribble in the City asked me:
What is one thing that has changed your life, and how/why?
My experience at university has changed my life for the better. Before uni I was a very confused person, confused about my personality, my friends, my life choices, my boyfriends, my everything! Over the three years I have learnt so many things: How to truly respect myself and others, the importance of friendships, how to be myself and not give a f*ck what anyone else thinks and just how to generally live my life properly – as an adult, as scary as that is. I know now that the mistakes that I made were wrong, yes, but that they can not be undone and I just need to move forward.
What five words best describe you?
I would describe my current self as: Content, Kind, Witty, Genuine and Beautiful.
What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
This might not count but I think that the scariest thing I can think of that happened to me was when I had sleep paralysis. I felt like I was suffocating and dying. Gives me nightmares thinking about it.
If you could give the younger you one piece of advice, what would it be?
Wait for the right one, he’ll come, you just have to be patient.
What is your dream job and why?
Travelling the world as a freelance creative director for films. That’s the dream, maybe I’ll get there one day!
How do you pick yourself up on a down day?
Chocolate, candles and fresh linen.
What experience is at the top of your bucket list (and if you don’t have a bucket list, what experience would be top of the list if you did have one)?
I need to make an official bucket list! But if I had one, at the top of the list would be, learning fluent Italian and going to Venice to ride gondolas and eat Gelato.
Who inspires you and why?
My family, because they are strong and they never fail to bring me back up when I am down.
What do you love the most about your friends?
I love how they are all unique in their humour, personality and the ways that they care for each other.
What made you start your blog?
I wanted a place to share my favourite things with others.
Which TV/Film/Book character do you most relate to and why?
Peter Pan, because I want to fly away to Neverland and never grow up.
